What to do when a death occurs

Transcription:

There’s a lot of worry and a lot of fear that tends to be present when dealing with patients and families at end of life. And I think as they go through the different stages, many are surprised to find the extraordinary resources of the Jewish community, particularly in Toronto, at helping people deal with these difficult moments. And many of the things they were worried about, they didn’t need to worry about. They never felt alone, they never felt stressed, because we had the resources to give them, to provide them with the comfort of Jewish traditions and rituals and really the gift of presence to help them through these difficult times. So my advice for people who are in the grips of dealing with these difficult times of life is to reach out. We have wonderful funeral homes, we have great rabbis in this city, there are people who dedicate their time to helping people through these moments of life, and I know that they are eager and ready and equipped to help people make these difficult times a little bit easier.
